How to Search for Specific Code in Edit HTML New ( Template ) Blogger - I still often get basic questions about how to find the code using the new Blogger HTML Editor ( released since last April 2013 ). At the post, I discussed some of the changes and what distinguishes it from the old HTML editor, but does not explain it in detail with the assumption that new features can be explored with ease.
But it turns out there are still problems, especially when meeting with my old tutorials are still referring to the old HTML editor, so it makes the process of editing or modification is not current blog template. Therefore ,in this occasion, I would like to share a little trick I did a search in the code in the " Edit HTML Template Blogger " on the fly so that the process of editing the template easier.
This post is certainly special for my friend who recently using blogger ( do not know HTML Editor old ) or that still have not been able to maximize or recognize the new features in the new HTML Editor ( for it is too comfortable with the old one ). So, for my friend who is quite recognize of course this post is less important, but go ahead if you want to come listen , and if acceptable, may add input .
Access to HTML Editor is :
Dashboard (Home) Blogger > Template > Click button "Edit HTML".
The new HTML Editor has some fundamental differences , three basic important of these are :
1 . The abolition of the " Expand Widget Templates". In the old HTML editor, this feature is used to display the tags widget is hidden by default , for security reasons, to avoid inadvertently edited. Therefore, to show certain widgets tags, must check it and can only edit it .
2 . Tags in the HTML editor of the new widgets are now displayed ( the default ), but in the form enclosed in the core tags, and must click the expand ( ► ) to see the contents . Core of each tag can be directly searched by using the dropdown menu "Jump to the widget ", which in the menu are the names of the core tag you want to target. Widget name order from top to bottom in order of widgets in the template.
3 . The most important point is the addition of new features on the new HTML editor, which is a function " Search ". If the first we used to use the search feature ( Ctrl + F ) belongs to the browser, and enter the code to get to a certain part in the editor , now can not anymore because HTML Editor is displayed in the frame, engine belongs browser can not be used to " explore " the contents of the frame. So to overcome that, Blogger adds features " Search " special in it .
It is a 3 core then change the old way we used to use to edit HTML Blogger. For point 1, the feature is not there anymore, so if any of my tutorials or any other asking " Expand widget templates ", ignore.
How to Find Tag Widgets With Specific ID in HTML Editor
Among the changes the three points, point number 2 is a bit difficult, because you have to know all the names widget ID ( not just a widget in the sidebar, but including post, header, etc.; blogger template element consists of widgets ). For sidebar widget, usually named using HTML ID , for example HTML1 , HTML2 , etc., in the order added a sidebar widget.
After finding the widget ID in question , then :
1 . Click the dropdown menu "Jump to Widget " .
2 . Click the name of the widget ( ID ) as has been found .
3 . You will be taken slid into the tag widget to the desired name .
4 . Click the ► widget to the left so that the tag is open and shows the elements in it .
5 . Perform editing / modifications as needed or tutorial .
This method would be effective only if the tag widget also easily searchable by name and can be seen with the naked eye. What if the code you are looking for a specific tag and not a widget ? Certainly very complicated if you have to open each tag with click ►. So we need a "shortcut", ie : looking at the same time expand tag with just a click !
How to Search for Codes in HTML Editor Using Feature " Search "
1 . To bring up the " search " owned Blogger, you can not just press Ctrl + F, because that appears later owned the browser search feature. Point the cursor to the first HTML Editor, click on any part of the editor , the new press CTRL + F, then the Blogger search bar will appear in the top right.
2 . Next, to find a particular code in accordance with the instructions tutorial, copy and paste or type the code into the " search ", then click enter. Code that you are looking for will appear in the bottom line in the code that appears in the post editor, and is highlighted with a specific color. Tags widget where the code is automatically expanded by itself. For example, I searched <data:post.body/> code like the following example :
3 . If the same code more than one suit that had been delivered by the tutorial , click enter one or two more times up to the code in question.
4 . If you are prompted for a code that turned out to have been modified in such a way by the template creator, just look for the code anyway. Example, if should seek <body> code, and is not met, then the body tag typically has been modified, for example : <body> , then search alone <body ( without cover ).
5 . completed
